If you love to fish and bring home an esky full to cook, this unique class is for you! Even if you know how to clean your fish, you’ll benefit from learning the expert tips and tricks from our Fishmonger and you’ll learn to maximise the results of your filleting and de-boning.
Our expert fish filleter will teach you how to clean and fillet a variety of local fish that you might catch in the surrounding areas. Our cooking teacher will then share the cooking and tasting of the fish we’ve just prepared and you’ll enjoy matched wines with generous tastings of all the recipes/
Your new skills will include:
- Scaling, gutting, filleting fish
- Methods for extending the life of your cut fish
- How to prepare an octopus
- Using the delicious bits you usually discard
You’ll practice preparing several fish while learning from our expert, then take their fillets home to cook. You’ll enjoy tastings of several recipes which our cooking teacher will prepare to show you how to turn your ‘catch’ into dinner.
- The cost is $250.00 including class, presentation folder with recipes, lunch with wine tasting plus the fillets you’ve cut which you will take home.

- Your class will take place in our brand new, purpose built facility in Dromana on the gorgeous Mornington Peninsula.
- We’ll start the day talking about sourdough bread and how it differs from instant (yeast raised) bread, and discuss the importance of the flour to use and other ingredients then you’ll learn how to care for your starter, make a levain (the sourdough sponge), make and shape and then finally bake the most wonderful bread you’ve ever tasted.
- Then we will move on to focaccia, croissants, flatbreads and other sourdough and talk about how to fit this ‘age-old’ baking method into a modern life.
- A delicious lunch with a variety of breads will be served before you take home your baby starter… ready to start your own sourdough journey
- The cost is $250.00 – including your own sourdough starter to take home

Most of the world’s cuisines feature a fabulous soup or chowder. Many of these date back centuries and have developed over time to use the best of whatever seafood was available. The skills developed in the creation of these original recipes are part of the class so not only are you going to learn to make these soups and enjoy them, you’ll also take home new seafood kitchen skills to apply to your other favourite recipes.

We know you love salmon but it’s time to be bold! Salmon can be so much more than just grilled fish! This class introduces you to some basic salmon handling skills, such as filleting, removing the skin and pin boning, and also extends your repertoire with some delicious recipes as well as some great ideas for using up the inevitable leftovers.
Seafood Skills:
- Filleting a whole salmon
- Pinboning
- Skinning a fillet
Once we’ve mastered the skills, enjoy the cooking and tasting of several delicious salmon recipes including curing, baking, and a sensational risotto, then learn how to use the leftovers to create other fantastic dinner dishes.
